HCPC-registered art therapy on site, supporting emotion regulation and difficulties such as anxiety, low mood, bereavement and loss, and trauma-related stress, helping children be ready to learn.
Art therapy helps children make sense of their thoughts and feelings by creating artwork. In school, it provides a calm, confidential environment in which images and materials do some of the talking, allowing children to express themselves, feel understood, and re-engage in learning. Art therapy is a regulated, professional therapy delivered by HCPC-registered art psychotherapists. We work closely with pastoral and SEND teams to shape a plan that fits your setting. Depending on need, we offer individual art therapy, usually a series of twelve sessions, and small therapeutic groups delivered over six weeks. We build in liaison time with staff and parents so support is joined up. Our approach is gentle, child-centred, and developmentally appropriate. We set goals with the school and review progress termly.
Through the art making process, children can explore feelings safely, find words for tricky experiences, strengthen peer relationships and feel steadier in class. Schools often notice improved emotional expression and engagement, alongside clearer communication with adults after attending art therapy.
